School Days
Charlie has really been enjoying preschool. We had tough drop-offs for about a week but ever since then he has been great. It is such fun to see him be such a big boy. He is so proud to lead me by hand to his class where hangs up his backpack in his cubby and puts his folder away. The teacher does a great job communicating what they do each day so we can talk about it with Charlie. She also hangs up lots of pictures and artwork to help us envision his days. Of course multiple pieces make it home each day. I love that our refrigerator looks like this:
We also had a nice surprise in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa this week! Books about going to school and some cookies! Here we are reading about Spot going to school:

Riding the Choo Choo
Just as the choo choo obsession was dying down (not always the #1 thing he wants to play with talk about 24/7), we went to the mall today and rode a real one. What fun! We rode in the boose-car (ie. the Caboose), waved to the other people walking around the mall and even got to say "all aboard!" A little boy in heaven...

Ch-ch-ch-changes (Part 2)
Today was Charlie's first day of Preschool! He was a very big boy walking into his classroom all by himself and barely whimpering when I walked about of the room... think I was more emotional than him! He seemed to have a lot of fun and chatted all night about it. Check out the big boy with his new backpack:
(I love his little feet in this one)
"Here we go!"
I thought the little sticker with him name on it was sweet so I left it on all night :)

Labor Day Weekend in Raleigh
This weekend we went down to see Carolina's season opener against JMU. While we made it to a tailgate last year, this was Charlie's first actual football game! It was hot, hot, hot outside but after the first quarter it cooled down and ended up being a beautiful day.
We got to spend some quality time with Granny and Grandpa and the Tweedys too!
Cornhole! (that is his Flying Squirrels hat which he insisted on wearing instead of his Carolina one)
...which means carrying bags from one side to the other at top speed.
In the hole!
Chillin' with dad
Whew, cornhole is hard work!

Ch-ch-ch-changes (Part 1)
Today was Charlie's last day with his beloved Ms. Pauline. Pauline has kept him since he was 3-months and has become like family to us. Deciding it was time to transition Charlie to preschool was a tough decision but we felt like it was time now that he is such a big boy. We feel so lucky to have had such a wonderful caregiver for Charlie during these important first few years of his life. We will miss her like crazy but plan to visit often.
