Virginia Beach

James had a Superintendents Conference in Virginia Beach this week so Charlie and I tagged along Saturday night and Sunday.  It was some fun family time even though it was short.  Charlie loved staying in a hotel room... what an adventure!  Everywhere we went he kept asking when we were going back to the room :)  We did check out a few things besides that though including....

A big sandcastle competition:

The Virginia Aquarium:

Driving a boat outside of the aquarium

This bizarre contraption was outside... a guy "flying" with a jet pack on his back.  Weird.

Riding bikes:

All set

Naptime that day was on the back of the bike :)

State Fair

Annual tradition!  State Fair followed by a trip to Bass Pro Shops.  It was a beautiful day so we squeezed a trip between Saturday morning baseball and heading over to Virginia Beach later in the evening.

Visiting Atlanta

James had a bachelor party trip this weekend so Charlie and I decided to go down and visit Grandma and Grandpa in Atlanta!  Grandpa was recovering from his knee surgery so it was a good time to come by and cheer him up.  We had a great time and even got to meet new friends Caleb, Carissa and Adam over at the fabulous park near the house.

Touching Some Trucks

After baseball practice we headed over to Touch a Truck.  It was such a hit last year that we couldn't resist going on such a beautiful day.  We even ran into the Rippertons there and Charlie and Ella ran abound while we all met their new baby girl.  We took a few pictures while we were there...

First Baseball Practice

Because of Charlie's love of baseball we decided to sign him up to play with a team to begin learning some fundamentals and to make some new friends.  It seems maybe a little early but the organization we found starts kids at 3 and he could choose from soccer, football or baseball.  We gave him a choice and he choose baseball.  Today was our first practice.  The other kids seemed a little older (Charlie will always be on the young side for these things) but the coach was really nice and made sure everyone took turns fielding, hitting and throwing   He had a really fun time and is super excited to go next time to get his uniform.  It was all too cute for words!
