Heading to School!!!

The time has finally come.  The baby boy is no more.  Charlie is ecstatic about starting Kindergarten.  For weeks he has been asking whether school is starting in the next few days.  Our transition began w/ getting school supplies...

Trying on backpacks!

Think they are happy to have them on?

Next we got to go to Kindergarten orientation where Charlie and I got to take a practice ride on the bus!

A little excited!

Finally the big day came!  Charlie got up way earlier than necessary and so happily let me take too many pictures and got out to the bus stop.  As we waited for the bus, he was pretty quiet as the nerves were sneaking in.   But when the bus came, he said goodbye and promptly climbed up the stairs.  We were a proud mommy and daddy watching the bus drive away.

The faces of nervous excitement...

Waiting, getting a little nervous

Too guys heading to school

It finally arrives!

No hesitation

I have to admit a tear came to my eye as it drove away.  Love that big boy.

At the end of the day, Charlie climbed back off that big bus happy as a clam.  He said multiple times that evening "Kindergarten is so fun."

Playing school bus later w/ K and some little animals :)
(he of course changed out of what he defines as "fancy clothes")
