Heading to School!!!

The time has finally come.  The baby boy is no more.  Charlie is ecstatic about starting Kindergarten.  For weeks he has been asking whether school is starting in the next few days.  Our transition began w/ getting school supplies...

Trying on backpacks!

Think they are happy to have them on?

Next we got to go to Kindergarten orientation where Charlie and I got to take a practice ride on the bus!

A little excited!

Finally the big day came!  Charlie got up way earlier than necessary and so happily let me take too many pictures and got out to the bus stop.  As we waited for the bus, he was pretty quiet as the nerves were sneaking in.   But when the bus came, he said goodbye and promptly climbed up the stairs.  We were a proud mommy and daddy watching the bus drive away.

The faces of nervous excitement...

Waiting, getting a little nervous

Too guys heading to school

It finally arrives!

No hesitation

I have to admit a tear came to my eye as it drove away.  Love that big boy.

At the end of the day, Charlie climbed back off that big bus happy as a clam.  He said multiple times that evening "Kindergarten is so fun."

Playing school bus later w/ K and some little animals :)
(he of course changed out of what he defines as "fancy clothes")

Boston Trip

We took Charlie to Boston for a fun end-of-summer trip.  It was hot, hot, hot but we had tons of fun being total tourists.  We even got to go to everyone's first Red Sox game!

I should've had #37

Big Papi

Checking out the players stats on his cards

They won!!!!!

Boston is cool but the view out of our hotel window (at the airport) is AWESOME.  "Mommy, one is blasting off!!!"

Back to Fenway

Switched to his bathing suit to splash around

Tea Party Reenactment!

Getting ready to throw some tea!  Huzzah!

Pointing to Charles Jameson

Look at those tired eyeballs

Merry-go-rounds are like clowns to Charlie... not sure if he will ever be cool w/ them.  Mommy is having fun though!

We found a fire station near Paul Reverie's house

We took a cool water taxi every day

A game of checkers (I went shopping)

Our little patriot!

Got stuck

Finally to the Children's Museum

He did this until he hit all nine floor circles in a row

He found a friend in the water room

Paddleboats!  Always sounds like a good idea until your legs are tired one minute in.

Charlie wanted to take a picture of this cool bridge after we crossed it.
