Charlie's Actual Birthday

We had Charlie's party a few days before his birthday so of course had to have a mini-celebration on the 24th too.  James and I took off early from work and took Charlie to see the new planes movie (after picking out a new black race car... an S5) then we had a nice dinner at home and some more presents afterwards!

Charlie totally passed out after the movie on the way home in the race car

A special after-dinner treat (also in his new t-shirt Ericka gave him for his b-day)

Someone else enjoyed leftover cake

"Mommy, do you want some?"

5th Birthday Party!

For months now Charlie has asked to have a Football-Police birthday party.  While that sounds strange, it was actually an easy theme to work with!  We had a lot of fun prepping for the party but then had so much fun I didn't take many pictures at the actual party :(  We did our (now) traditions of a homemade pinata, timeline of photos and water play (because it is July).  But this year we decided to cater food rather than cook it... lesson learned from the 95-degree party last year over the grill.  Charlie is so lucky to have so many people who love him who came to the party... the Lanes, Grovers, Cammaratas, Tweedys, neighbors, friends and even BFF Soham from school.  It was a fun time!

Good to have access to football field painting supplies

What I distracted K w/ while I worked on the pinata.  That is a box of rice and beans.

A Lady

Kerrington has a new love of necklaces and purses!  Anything that resembles either gets immediately thrown around her neck or arms.  Some days she will even wear beads all day long.  Little nut :)

Even fancy when cooking!

Trying to talk to Marl...

... then barking at her

The purse arm move... to keep them on her arm of course

This is a little excessive

Even fire backpacks make good purses

Happy Birthday America!

We saw fireworks in Sandbridge while we were there.  With the hurricane scare, the official ones were cancelled but a bunch of people were setting them off on the beach which was really fun to watch.  When we got home Saturday, the Richmond fireworks had gotten rescheduled from the night before so we could see them too!  We called up Sherry and Flinn who always know what is up w/ Richmond events and to our surprise they said they had the best spot for them at their place in Oregon Hill overlooking the river.  They are moving to SC next week and so it was a win-win to get to see the fireworks from such a great spot but also because we got to hang out with them one last time.

Eating a chocolate covered oreo on a stick!

The next day we had our third celebration at home w/ giant sparklers!
